Interview Process Head of Engineering

Introduction

You'll have a 30-min call on Whereby where you'll meet Jessica, our People Ops at tymeshift. She will be happy to answer any questions you have and they will also double-check your location, notice period, salary expectations, and any necessary key skills.

Understanding how you work

If we think it's a good match, we'll schedule a 1 hour conversation with our Tech Lead, Yevhen.

During this interview, we'll cover:
Who we are
The role of Head of Engineering at tymeshift
Your experience and motivation
Your skills and special talents!
Your organizational and problem-solving skills
How you believe you can contribute to tymeshift's growth
Your questions to us — just as important as our evaluation of you is your evaluation of us. We care deeply about making sure the fit is mutual!

Understanding how we would work together

After meeting with Yevhen, you will meet two members of the Engineering team, Backend and Frontend Team Leads, Luka Macun and Dejan Betos, respectively. This way you will understand how you would collaborate and work seamlessly.

We may ask that a portion of this interview is performed over Slack to develop a better understanding of how we'll collaborate together in an asynchronous fashion.

In that case, here are a few things worth knowing in advance:
Slack is our main type of daily communication. That's why we want to make sure there's a smooth flow and great energy while interacting during this interview
There are no right or wrong answers. We're not expecting you to know everything about Tymeshift or WFM. This interview is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and see how the communication flows
Shorter messages keep the momentum going, so avoid longer bits of text
Keep related content threaded whenever possible, and feel free to use and react with emojis Upside-Down FaceParty PopperRocket
And most importantly: remember to have fun!

Practical Test

If we're all on board that there could be a mutual fit we'll ask you to complete a practical test after that interview (1-hour). That will allow us to deep dive on your skills, thinking process, and ultimately work.

Personality Assessment

We've started using a personality assessment with our teams called TAIS. It helps us understand our strengths, opportunities for improvement, and most importantly how we can best work together to support each other.

The test itself is performed online, at your own pace, and will take 20-30min to complete. After the test, you'll speak with Corey Dalton who works with our team on a part-time basis. Corey will speak with you about your test results and after that, he'll write up a summary which you may keep. Many of us have personally found the TAIS Assessment quite beneficial and we hope you will as well Smiling Face.

Meet our CTO

After the practical test and the personality assessment, your last interview will be with Tiago, tymeshift's CTO and, hopefully, your future manager.

Offer

The final step is an offer. We'll hop on a call and review it together to make sure everything makes sense and answer any questions you have.
